Meet Ellie! She is spirited, kind, and fun!
Ellie is just ten years old, but she has been involved with local hospitals helping critically ill children and their families for several years. Each year, Ellie helps to decorate the Christmas trees at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. This year, she also sold bears at the Boston Children’s Hospital League Gala. After these experiences, Ellie decided to get involved with The B Fund!
“Everything Ellie does, she does with incredible energy and passion!” Ellie’s mom, Marci, said. She knew that The B Fund’s activities were a great way for her daughter to channel her enthusiasm into a great service project involving her classmates.
When she learned that The B Fund was collecting items for a drive in May, Ellie put her amazing communications skills to good use by rallying her principal and friends at Brimmer and May School to collect items. Her items helped to contribute to the 100 Be Bags and handmade cards that were donated to Boston Children’s Hospital in June.
After she had such a great time helping with the drive, Ellie also helped The B Fund by volunteering at The Street’s Kid-Friendly Fun Summer Series. This girl was unstoppable! She fearlessly approached every single guest at the event to tell them about The B Fund, taking the time to pass out flyers and start conversations. She also served lemonade, passed out crayons and stickers, and, when the event was over, she even cleaned up the supplies (in the rain!). Her can-do attitude and courageous spirit were inspiring to all who attended.
